Welcome to Vitalscope! We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing high school students with shadowing opportunities under healthcare practitioners. By accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions.
Mission and Scope
Vitalscope’s mission is to connect high school students with healthcare practitioners for shadowing experiences to inspire and educate future healthcare professionals.
Use of Our Services
By using Vitalscope’s platform, you agree to:
- Respect the privacy and professional boundaries of healthcare practitioners and patients.
- Complete any required preparation modules before participating in shadowing activities.
- Adhere to all guidelines, parental consent requirements, and liability waivers as applicable.
Practitioner Interviews and Articles
Vitalscope conducts interviews with healthcare practitioners to publish articles summarizing their experiences. These articles are intended to inform students about various healthcare careers. Practitioners may opt to participate only in interviews without offering shadowing opportunities.
Shadowing Program Participation
Students interested in shadowing:
- Must read the articles and complete preparation modules before applying.
- Can select preferred practitioners but understand that matching is not guaranteed.
- Will receive a time-limited application and access to the student portal upon submission.
- Will be matched with a practitioner based on availability, who will provide scheduling information for introductions and shadowing sessions.
Responsibilities of Healthcare Practitioners
- Practitioners agree to share their healthcare journey during interviews.
- Those participating in the shadowing program will host students, allowing them to observe patient care and daily tasks in a professional setting.
Liability and Consent
Participation in shadowing requires signed parental consent forms and liability waivers. Vitalscope is not responsible for any injuries or incidents occurring during shadowing sessions. Students and guardians agree to assume all risks related to participation.
Privacy and Data Use
Vitalscope respects your privacy and handles all personal data in accordance with applicable laws. Information collected during the application process will only be used to facilitate shadowing and related communications.
Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of our platform constitutes acceptance of any changes.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of North Carolina, United States of America. Any disputes will be resolved in the appropriate courts within this jurisdiction.
